I haven't been regular with my blog but thought I would bring you up to date with the happenings of late. I lost my Dad in February of 2014. Mom was a left to adjust and she did such a great job. I lived about 2 and a half hours away but we tried to visit regularly. We took her to the cemetery as often as she could go. This photo was taken last November and it was still so hard to not have Pop around. Mom got to spend Thanksgiving with us and we all had such a wonderful time.
In January she was advised to have a heart by-pass so on January 9, 2015 we were there for her surgery. Long story short and after many complications and setbacks, she passed away in March. She never left the hospital, for 63 days, she never got to return home. I miss her so. It was really tough loosing Pop last year, but as I found out, it is really really tough loosing your Mother. Today would have been her 81st birthday. I am so thankful she was a Christian and was saved by the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ. Today, she will celebrating with my Pop, both in the presence of God! Have a blessed day today and show your family you love them! Mike

And after the wait................................... Here She is!!!!!!  Ice Cream tomorrow!

Getting ready for the Holidays. My favorite time of the year! Family, Friends and Food! And when the word food comes to mind, imbedded somewhere there is usually the taste of pecan pie. Please don't say "pee-can". That will give it away that you just weren't raised right!!!!!! For those that need to know the proper pronunciation is "buck-kon" pie!!! Try it, it will taste better if you say it just right. And oh! to watch that Blue Bell vanilla ice cream melt down from the top!!!! Yep, it is time for the Holidays!!!
Matter of fact, our resident chef, Katie, is in the process of  producing one as I type!!!! Here is a preview:
Now that the dough is left on the table, the work begins!!

Now, throw it in the fire for an hour and the finished product will follow soon!!!!!!!

Great Day in the Gardens

We had a wonderful afternoon with Liv shooting in the gardens downtown last week. Although it was one of the hottest and most humid days of the summer, we were able to get some really nice photographs. Liv was a trooper and she woke from her nap and warmed up quickly. Thanks to all who made this shoot a success!

Here are a few from that Wednesday afternoon. Enjoy!

Sunday Afternoons

Easy Sunday afternoons have always been a tradition around here. It was kind of a ritual to come home from Church, have a good lunch and hit the couch, or easy chair and snooze for a few hours. Maggie our almost 2 golden has taken up the family tradition.

Today is Labor Day and quite honestly I have never understood why we take off work and not labor on Labor Day! Here is a photo of the Bad Boy Nala on his day off!
